The sharks of the ocean are the heart of the ocean. Feared for their might, revered for their invaluable place in the ocean ecosystem, the mighty creatures and one-third of all shark species, rays, and chimaeras are now at risk of extinction because of overfishing.
LEFSON: 'I love colour- and began with the simple idea of developing a wide range of vibrance across the canvas. The pig can only reach and paint within a certain dimension so to cover a full canvas of this size required a lot of turning in all angles and multiple variations in height. As it came to the final colour, it still needed a colour to define it and it was a toss between black or white. A few white strokes in all the right directions, and fortune favoured the brave. The fin and the mouth was a dead giveaway, and created an extraordinary Master work.'
