LEFSON: 'The pig inspired the initial development of this work when she painted the obvious facial features in blue. It was extraordinary. I had to focus then lifting the painting high enough in order that the pig could add strokes of colour for the hat but not be able to reach high enough to ‘mess up’ the incredible blue face. I became a juggler myself, turning the canvas upside down, higher and lower, left and right, in order to get the final shape of a jester with the colourful headgear captured on paper..'
